The Woodlands

The Woodlands is a master planned community and census-designated place in the U.S. state of Texas in the Houston–The Woodlands–Sugar Land metropolitan area. It is primarily located in Montgomery County, with portions extending into Harris County.
The Village of Alden Bridge
One of the largest villages in The Woodlands, Alden Bridge is bordered by FM 2978 and FM 1488. It has easy access to Research Forest and the University Center. It has over 18,000 residents with approximately 7,000 homes. There are two shopping centers, the Alden Bridge Village Center, and the Windvale Village Center.
The Village of Indian Springs
The smallest of the villages, Indian Springs has only 2,200 homes and over 6,000 residents. It is names after the Indian artifacts from the Bidai tribe of the Atakapan Indians that were discovered in the area 1984. Indian Springs is located in the south area of The Woodlands, just south of Woodlands Parkway, and west of Gosling. Known for it's secluded feel and custom homes, Indian Springs is also the only village in The Woodlands with actual hills.
The Village of Cochran's Crossing
Homeowners in Cochran's Crossing have many excellent amenities to choose from. If you are a golfer, the Arnold Palmer at The Woodlands Country Club is always inviting. Plus, The Woodlands Resort is close where families can spend hours around the pool. Excellent restaurants, beautiful parks and plenty of walkways give every member of the family options for an enjoyable day!
The Village of Panther Creek
The Woodland's 2nd village, opened in 1977, is named for the creek that runs through the village. Panther Creek is located on the western shore of Lake Woodlands and is within walking or biking distance to the Town Center and has convenient access to I-45. It is also home to some of the more desired neighborhoods such as West Isle, The Cove, Splitrock, and Windward Cove.
The Village of College Park
College Park Village, opened in the late 1990's, is named after its location near Lone Star College and the University Center. College Park has to two major neighborhoods: Harper's Landing and Windsor Hills; and is home to over 2,500 citizens and 900 residences. Harper's Landing neighborhood was negotiated to remain part of The Woodlands and not be annexed by the city of Conroe in 1995. It is the only area of The Woodlands located on the east side of I-45.
The Village of Sterling Ridge
Opened in 1999, the year of The Woodlands' 25th anniversary, Sterling Ridge is one of the newest villages and received its name for that momentous occasion. Sterling Ridge is located on the western end of The Woodlands, surrounding Carlton Woods and home to the Gary Player Golf Course. There are over 2,500 home in this fast growing village and recently, a 400 acre tract of land along FM 2978 within the Sterling Ridge Village was purchased and is currently under development. "Spindle Tree" as the neighborhood is to be called, will be comprised of another 900 single family homes.
The Village of Creekside Park
Creekside Park Village is the newest development project currently underway for The Woodlands. This 3,492 acre village, located south of Spring Creek, is the only village in The Woodlands to be found in Harris County. It is also the only village in The Woodlands that is served by the Tomball School District. Creekside Village is home to the impressive 20 acre Rob Fleming Park & Aquatic Center which is one of the largest parks in The Woodlands.
The Village of Town Center
Considered the "downtown" of The Woodlands, Town Center is 1,000 acres of shopping, restaurants, and entertainment. Town Center brings an urban feel to the otherwise mostly residential focus of The Woodlands with its paved streets, shops, restaurants, hotels, office buildings, lofts, town homes, and condominiums.
The Village of Grogan's Mill
Opened in 1974, the Village of Grogan's Mill, named after the Grogan Lumber Mill and family, is the first and oldest village located in the front of The Woodlands. It borders The Woodlands Town Center, right off I-45.
